day 2: Ardgay to Achiltibuie
After an early breakfast we take the train to Ardgay where we begin our tour. We cycle along back roads through some lovely wooded scenery crossing the river Oykel which flows down the slopes of Ben More and through this ice-gouged valley. This is a particularly rugged area of the western Highlands. Several nature reserves protect the area's wildlife and terrain. Traditional ways of life are retained in the crofting and fishing villages that lie along the shores of the sea lochs.

day 3: Achiltibuie to Lochinver
We start our day by cycling through Inverpolly National Nature Reserve at nearly eleven thousand hectares is the second largest reserve in Britain after the Cairngorms. It comprises acres of bog, moorland and woodland but is dominated by the magnificently isolated red Torridonian Sandstone peaks of Cul Mor (849m), Cul Beag (769m) and Stac Polly (613m). A single track road takes us to Lochinver the largest community in West Sutherland and a bustling fishing port where Scottish & European Boats unload their catch ready for the evening market.

Cycling distance: 28 miles.
day 4: Lochinver to Scourie
From Lochinver we cycle possibly the most scenic route in Scotland round the coast to Kylesku Bridge. The road twists and turns, climbs and drops, as it runs along the southern shore of Eddrachillis Bay, through the villages of Stoer and Drumbeg. The resident wildcats, wild deer, eagles and other birdlife have been enjoying these spectacular scenes around them for centuries. We will finally arrive in Scourie.

day 5: Scourie to Cape Wrath
We are now deep in Sutherland one of the last remaining wildernesses in Europe, unspoilt by man and shaped only by nature. We pass the white sands of Scourie bay as we cycle through this lunar landscape of lochs and mountains as we head for Cape Wrath. Situated in the remotest part of the UK, Overlooking the Kyle of Durness, you will marvel at the sheer magnificence of the scenery, heather clad moorland alive with wildlife, picturesque lochs and rivers teeming with fish, and the rugged grandeur of mountains rising up from glens gouged during the last ice-age.

day 6: Cape Wrath to Crask Inn
Today we begin our ride along the coast road of the beautiful Loch Eriboll to the village of Hope. Here we take an even smaller track towards Altnaharra. We will see only a few houses as we cycle through this secluded green glen. Once we reach Altnaharra we start a gentle 8 mile climb towards our Accommodation at The Crask Inn. This deserted place has a notice on the counter which reads "Help yourself and please leave the money". A perfect place to rest after this stunning days cycle.

day 7: Crask Inn to Inverness
Our final day cycle, along mile upon mile of barren moorland and forest, hardly a vehicle to be seen until we get to Lairg. We stop at the Falls of Shin the best place in Scotland to see wild Atlantic Salmon in their natural habitat. Watch salmon battle their way up the waterfall on their annual journey to the spawning grounds in the headwaters of the River Shin and it's tributaries. We will end our trip with a train ride back to Inverness when we reach Ardgay. Arriving in Inverness around 1pm with plenty of time to catch the afternoon flight to London/Glasgow.
